Together Paul Mayer, owner of Café Nine, Mary Schiffer of Art in Heaven, Robert S. Greenberg of ACME Furniture Co, and Lou Cox of Channel 1, developed Lights Artists Making Places, a community art event. This Friday shine bright in the 9th Square District of New Haven. With the combination of art, music and lights downtown New Haven will transform into an illuminating art gallery. Take a walk through the district and view art by local artists. This year you can discover art by Kelly Bigelow Becerra of Eastern Connecticut State University who will display her animated film, Grandma’s House. I suggest wearing something bright and making a night out of it. There will be live music and you can hit up the bars for an after party. L.A.M.P begins at 8pm this Friday.
This Friday also marks the launch of the annual ArtSpace City Wide Open Studios. The weekend events will kick off with City Wide Passport Weekend taking place in sister towns like West Haven and Hamden. The Erector Square events will follow the next 2 weekends. Learn more here.

The mission of Art Bra New Haven is, “To provide emotional and financial support to the under- & uninsured breast-cancer patients in the Greater New Haven region,” as stated on their site. The life changing event allows local artists, friends and survivors to submit decorated bras or artwork to be auctioned at their annual Brunch & Auction at the Omni Hotel. The event will honor Connecticut survivor and activist Nancy M. Cappello, Ph.D.
